Helen Roach's memoir of the CJGRJB Helen Roach was more then a skilled blackjack dealer. She provided the quintessential audience for the CJGRJB. A knowledgable jazz lover, she recognized the unique setting that made the CJGRJB more than just another band. In her role as Mildred Paperman she was bookkeeper, girl Friday and confidant. She caught the spirit of the times in her record of the adventures. |
